I find it really hard to get inspired by the internet. It's such a huge platform for our generation and it really is amazing how you can communicate to so many people at one time. But when I spend all day on a computer the last thing I wanna do to inspire me is sit and look and cool blogs all day. There are so many out there (most of them now offering everything in one place too i.e. fashion, music, design, trends.) It's just a bombardment on the eyes.
I think I become most inspired when I'm talking to other people. It doesn't even have to be someone creative to get creative influence out of it. It's a massive cliche but two (or even 3,4,5) heads are better than one. Even if the person doesn't respond, sometimes it just helps voicing an idea. Getting out of the office definitely helps too.
I think too many people make excuses for not getting off their arses and doing things these days. You're either a doer or a talker. I'm definitely guilty of being a bit of the latter in the past and not pursuing my ideas enough but since properly working I've realised if you want anything to happen then you've got to stop being lazy and just bloody do it. Stop procrastinating. Stop looking at cool blogs waiting for inspiration to hit. Don't say you don't have enough time because you do. If you really want to pursue something you will always, always find a way to make time. Sure it's hard to get the ball rolling. A gay analogy of starting anything new for me is a bit like waking up...so goddamn hard to get motivated and out of those comfy warm bedsheets but once you do get out of bed you continue your day as normal and feel better for it. Unless you're hungover that is. So don't wait until your mum shakes you awake or reluctantly drag your sorry ass out of bed. JUMP OUT! It makes things easier and less painful :)
I love this post! I'm finding it so hard to be inspired and have motivation atm, i am your newest follower :) x
