Day 8 @ Music
Had to get a taxi back from the studio because I suddenly had the displeasure of coming down with the worst stomach bug I think I've ever had. Even a pot noodle couldn't fix this one (it worked when I was about 10.) What is with the bad luck today, first Illustrator was playing up and now this. LOLZ! (that was a joke by the way) Feeling a bit better now, ate summat and abusing the hotel Internet with my first ever bit of technology...an iPhone! Boring! hope I'm all dandy tomorrow as it's me last day. did I sound northern then? blogs are stupid it's just my online diary just not a secret. P.s. Sorry if you read this Bev and hated me writin style x over and out. X

forget the necklace, this is what I'm talking about...

'SCREENAGERS'

Are you addicted?

Are you unable to limit your use of the Internet? Does it take up most of your free time?
Do you lose your sense of time when you’re online?
Do you take steps to allow yourself to stay online longer? (Do you stock up your desk with several meals? Wear a diaper? Drink energy drinks? Are you always improving your computers or your software?)
Do you experience withdrawal symptoms when you are prevented from getting online? (Anger, craving, restlessness, moodiness, irritable, depression)
Do you use your computer to escape reality?
Do you lie to others about your computer use?
Are you social isolated in the real world?
Have you traded your real life experiences for emotions that you now experience on the Internet through social networking, games, and porn?
Have you risked a real life relationship or your job over your Internet use?

MEET TIM SINCLAIR THE CRAZY PHOTOGRAPHER MAN!

Day 5 @ Music

Meeting some interesting people whilst on my placement. Tim Sinclair is the guy who has shot a lovely group picture of everyone at Music for the next issue of Grafik magazine. He also likes to take a picture of every meal he eats when he's out. Just been told to have a look at his 'self portraits'.....they are pretty funny but I'll let you decide.

Day 4 @ Music

So the first day was pretty awful, not at the studio but the whole general living experience at where I'm staying. But I have to say each day has got better as it's gone along. Not feeling like so much of a new kid now and I'm hacking the weird house I'm staying in. Last night was awesome, well....the football was TERRIBLE!....but I enjoyed the buzz of my first ever real football match, oh and the free food and drink in the box :) Took some crap shots of things like cheese and biscuits and maybe a snippet of footy on my godawful £2 camera just to document it. Didn't make too much of a fool of myself but I suspect work were trying to get me drunk. Also had to explain to the taxi driver what Cornwall was... felt like I was in Spain or summat.
Right, time to start some work. I'll leave you with a link to this amazing book.

YCN submission

This is my submission for the YCN brief for the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). The brief is to raise awareness of underage drinking amongst young people so instead of creating some uninteresting posters, I thought I'd create something that was ongoing to the problem. Below is what I came up with...a non-alcoholic drink called Stubby's aimed at 13-16 year olds. The brand will host free promotional parties and events to hopefully educate young people about the dangers of alcohol as well as giving them an alternative thing to do besides drinking down the park on a Friday night. To make the packaging of Stubby's more appealing, different illustrators who wanted to get involved with the campaign have helped design these collectable bottle caps. The caps are also magnetic so children can either stick them on their fridge or in the street to help raise brand awareness. To see the images up close, just click. :)

Quote of the Day.

"Jesus was well into his thirties
before he really did anything,
so I shouldn't be too worried."
Ville Valo

I stole this off Ella Masters' blog who stole it off somebody else but it makes me feel better. :)

Day One. Done.

Last night was not fun. Got lost driving back to the place I'm staying. Hotel weren't serving food. Drove around some dodgy streets and found a Londis that was open. Pizza and supernoodles. Got back. Kitchen without a single thing to cook with, no plates, spoons, working fridge, not even an oven glove to take out a pizza. I've never heard a person snore so loud in my life. Thanks for keeping me awake dickhead. Extremely lonely. Woken up this morning by what sounded like someone pretending to be a dolphin in the bath by constantly rolling around and the squeaking sound of skin on bath echoing into my room. Shit breakfast. Nice reception man though. Had to jumpstart my car. Never had the pleasure of witnessing lads MCin and girls buying vodka, asking how strong it was at half 8 in the morning whilst I was filling up my car. Oh and I hate traffic and I also love moaning. 1 day down and ready to start the second gruelling one. Dario best write me a good bloody story.

EEK! First day at a real live studio place!

Day 1 @ Music, Manchester.
Scenery: knocked down buildings and fire. (serious)
Atmosphere: Chilled and friendly. Lovely studio. (inside anyways)
Work done: zilch yet but about to start on a kitchen company logo.
Teas made: 0!
Teas drunk: 1

Pretty much can do what I want so far and work will come my way. Been shown this book called 'Very Funny' so thought I'd test out the scary scanner and put up some pages I liked. Oh, and I'm gonna be taken to my FIRST EVER football match on Wednesday! Check me!

Sweet wrapper claws continued...

Did anyone do this when they were little?

Get sweet wrappers and make claws with them? It was fun because they were foil so you could scratch your brothers well good with them.

New year until now. Took its bloody time.

Had this film since I went to Egypt at new year. The only time I really wanted to take a photo was of these really nice rabie-fied dogs at the local McDonalds but sods law I didn't have it on me. But I did manage to get the typical generic shot posing next to the pool. Oh and the man below is not my Dad, just the hotel photographer who let me steal his camera, very funny man. ('you email photo, yes?') No. The rest are simply of nice times at 27, greatshakes and BopIt.

KODAK EK 100

Bought this a while ago and thought I'd get it out and try and use it. Didn't realise it was made by Kodak until now....just looked where I can get film for it....turns out Kodak got sued by Polaroid for rippin them off with an instant camera so they no longer make any film for it, neither will I get my hands on any. Wounded.

Its my birthday and I'll do what I waaant to...like bore the hell out of you with this blog!

One of them days today where anything and everything just keeps on coming. I won't go into details but I was that stressed I almost cried tears of anger when the silly canteen lady forgot about the teacake I had ordered about 10 minutes ago leaving them cold and totally not perfection for butter spreading. (Can you see how close to the edge I was!??!*#!onezz!) and to top it off somebody had dropped the mother of farts next to where i was working. (or i think it was an egg sandwhich, who cares i certainly dont.)
Gradually chilled out a little bit anyway.
I had music for the first time in a long time today and it felt like I was born again. I lost my ipod a decade ago, my car doesn't a radio let alone speakers, all I really have is a little ghetto blaster (£4 carboot, bargain!) with a broken tape deck and the ability to listen to chris moyles in the mornings. Well today, I GOT A BATTERY FOR MY MP3 PLAYER! and I was able to listen to tunage all the way home. It was so weird it made my actions feel all cheesy like it was a movie soundtrack to my whole life. When the music got faster I felt like I ought to break into a run or something to fit the film playing along in my head. It was good though.

And now I am just chilling listening to some Cap'n Jazz on this handy rented laptop I have to give back tomorrow waiting to turn 21 in.......1 minute. Can't believe the last thing I did when I was 20 was write this shitty blog post.
